About the Project

MixCare Health had built a white-label, API-enabled employee wellness and benefits platform that connected insurers, brokers and employers with a large network of wellness vendors. Employers (via brokers or insurers) offered MixCare as a complementary layer to group insurance — employees used a single wallet/portal to select flexible benefits, redeem marketplace services, join health campaigns and earn engagement rewards. The platform prioritized quick broker integrations (SSO), data analytics to measure utilization and AI decisioning to recommend tailored benefit bundles that matched household needs and budget constraints. Strategic partnerships (notably with Pacific Prime) scaled distribution into broker client bases across Hong Kong and the region.

Challenges in Development

Vendor Onboarding & Quality Control

Aggregating thousands of wellness vendors while ensuring consistent pricing, quality and availability required robust provider onboarding, verification and a marketplace governance model.

Personalization vs. Privacy

Delivering AI-driven benefit recommendations while complying with regional privacy laws (e.g., Hong Kong data protections) required careful data minimization, consent flows and audit trails.

Demonstrating ROI & Utilization

Convincing employers to adopt flexible benefits required clear measurement of utilisation, cost savings and employee satisfaction—metrics that depended on reliable, near-real-time analytics.

We built automated vendor onboarding and quality controls so MixCare’s marketplace expanded rapidly without compromising service quality. We developed an integration hub with SSO and broker connector templates so partners could embed the portal with minimal engineering effort. We implemented a privacy-aware AI recommendation engine and an event-driven analytics stack that produced real-time utilization and ROI dashboards. Finally, we shipped an engagement engine with reward primitives and campaign experimentation which drove repeat usage and improved measurable benefit activation.
