ShipHero is a SaaS platform that replaces manual spreadsheets and fragmented tools with a single system of record for ecommerce fulfillment. It combines a web Backoffice for warehouse managers, mobile scanning and picking apps for floor staff, integrations to ecommerce platforms (Shopify, marketplaces), and carrier/returns partners to automate the order lifecycle from purchase to delivery. ShipHero targets both brands managing their own fulfillment and 3PLs that host multiple clients — offering multi-warehouse, multi-client support and APIs so the platform can be integrated into enterprise stacks or third-party routing layers. The company also publishes developer docs and migration guidance so integrators can automate flows and build on top of ShipHero.
Scalability for 3PL Operations
Supporting very high order volumes, many client accounts, and fast onboarding/migrations for new customers.
Developer Experience & Security
providing robust public APIs (REST → GraphQL migration), proper auth flows, idempotency, retryable webhooks and developer tooling.
Real-time Availability & Race Conditions
Preventing oversells when orders arrive from many sales channels and concurrent picking/receiving is occurring
We designed robust, multi-tenant inventory models and idempotent transaction flows that prevent oversells and support multi-warehouse, multi-client 3PL operations. We built connector hubs that normalize carrier and marketplace APIs, add retryable webhooks, and provided SDKs/collections so partners can integrate reliably. We implemented high-throughput fulfillment pipelines and autoscaling workers plus mobile-first picking and packing workflows to raise productivity and accuracy. Finally, we provided migration tooling, sandbox environments, dashboards and developer enablement to shorten onboarding time and reduced operational risk.
1. Warehouse Management (WMS)
Inventory control, receiving, putaway, cycle counts and bin/location management for multi-warehouse operations.
2. Order & Fulfillment Automation
Automated pick/pack routing, bulk pick/pack, returns handling, and fulfillment workflows for brands and 3PLs.
3. Shipping & Carrier Integrations
Rate-shopping, label generation, tracking updates and built-in integrations with major carriers and marketplace channels.
4. API & Extensibility
Public API (REST + GraphQL), webhooks, SDK/Dev resources for integrations, and support for partner/third-party tooling.
5. Multi-tenant 3PL support
Unlimited customer portals, multi-warehouse visibility and client/account segregation for 3PL operators.
6. Operator Mobile Tools
Mobile scanning and handheld workflows to power a mobile workforce in warehouses.
The solution improved user engagement, and a pilot adoption rate exceeding expectations.
Integrations, automation and transactional safeguards eliminated many common fulfillment errors and prevented oversells, raising order accuracy and customer trust. Faster pick/pack workflows and mobile optimizations increased throughput per worker and reduced order cycle time, letting warehouses handle higher daily volumes without hiring proportionally more staff. Connector patterns and retryable webhooks reduced integration failures and payment/label errors, increasing on-time shipments and decreasing manual rework. Together these improvements boosted fulfillment capacity, reduced operational costs, and increased client retention and revenue for brands and 3PLs using the platform.
