About the Project

Freightos had built an end-to-end digital freight platform that digitized freight rates, enabled instant quoting and e-booking, and provided enterprise procurement workflows and market data products. Its public marketplace allowed importers/exporters to compare air, ocean and trucking options and to book with vetted providers; WebCargo (and related products) powered forwarder/carrier rate distribution, e-booking and airline partnerships. Over time Freightos expanded by acquiring complementary technology (airline and procurement tooling) and by launching data/index products and enterprise procurement modules to serve both SMBs and large shippers.

Challenges in Development

Rate complexity & freshness

Keeping millions of route-level rates up to date across carriers and forwarders required robust rate ingestion, validation and reconciliation to prevent stale or incorrect quotes.

Enterprise integration & data lineage

Mapping telemetry to existing shipment identifiers and legal evidence (BOL, timestamps) needed lineage metadata, reliable APIs and reconciliation tools so operations teams trusted the data.

Regulatory & vertical requirements (cold chain)

Meeting life-sciences regulatory evidence and audit requirements compelled rigorous timestamping, immutable logs and exportable compliance packages for audits and claim substantiation.

Solutions: Our software agency provided

We improved device reliability and provisioning to reduce missed telemetry during multi-leg shipments. We built a high-throughput, event-driven ingestion and alerting fabric so operations teams received only high-signal alerts in real time. We implemented sensor fusion and hybrid-positioning logic that improved location accuracy in cellular-challenged segments. Finally, we delivered API connectors and audit-ready evidence packs that integrated visibility into clients’ TMS/ERP workflows and sped dispute resolution.

Key Features of the Application

1. Multi-sensor real-time trackers

Tive shipped disposable and reusable trackers (Solo, Solo 5G, Solo Pro) that transmitted location plus condition metrics (temperature, humidity, shock, light) via cellular, GPS and Wi-Fi.

2. Instant alerts & geofencing

The platform generated immediate alerts on excursions (temperature breaches, shock events, route deviations) and supported geofence-based rules to notify ops teams proactively.

3. APIs & system integrations

Tive exposed REST APIs and webhooks that integrated shipment telemetry with ERP, TMS and WMS systems for automated workflows and reconciliation.

4. Analytics & reporting

The product provided dashboards, shipment performance analytics and exportable reports that helped teams analyze on-time delivery, exceptions and carrier performance.

5. Cold-chain & life-sciences solutions

Tive offered specialized trackers and workflows for pharma/cold-chain use cases, with features focused on immediate intervention and regulatory evidence capture.

Technologies We Use in This Project

The solution improved user engagement, and a pilot adoption rate exceeding expectations.

Results & Business Impact — Operational & Commercial Outcomes

Tracker reliability and telemetry fidelity improved, which reduced stale-data incidents and increased trust among enterprise customers. The prioritized alerting and evidence-pack automation shortened time-to-intervention and reduced claim resolution time for temperature excursions. Tive’s platform integrations and case studies (e.g., Maersk) helped the company scale enterprise pilots into recurring deployments, supporting customer growth and commercial traction. After a Series-C raise, Tive increased investment in product and go-to-market to scale to more lanes and verticals.
